We Love Shropshire Fund

We Love Shropshire is a new local place-based fund that will provide small grants to a wide range of projects based across the county of Shropshire.  Under the banner of We Love Shropshire are a range of sub-funds for a specific area of the county – We Love Bridgnorth, We Love North Shropshire, We Love Oswestry, We Love Shrewsbury & Atcham, and We Love South Shropshire.  This fund does not cover Telford & Wrekin, as there is a separate fund for that area.

The fund is made up of contributions from people and businesses who want to support their local community, but don’t want to start their own fund.  All the money raised and donated through We Love Shropshire will stay in the county, and more precisely the area in which it was raised.  This funds helps you to support those organisations that are doing so much good for our area, and allows you to see the difference on your doorstep.

We invest all the money raised as an endowment fund.  As a recognised community foundation, and member of UK Community Foundations, we invest in line with charity commission guidelines. The interest and dividends earned are then distributed as small grants. The beauty of this model is that it will provide a source of on-going funding that can be used for small grants, and larger grants as the fund grows, for many years to come.

Our target?

The fund aims to grow to a level where it can award £25,000 every year to grassroots level community groups and organisations through small grants, creating a lasting legacy for the county.

Businesses and people can support the fund through donations or fundraising.  Every year we plan many community fundraising events, all of which seek to involve the wider community – so it’s not just about raising money to benefit people in Shropshire, it’s about bringing people together to have a bit of fun whilst we’re doing it.
